First stop... Munich!

We finally made it to Munich, Germany! Traveling almost 24 straight hours here was quite the experience, in fact I don't think I ever want to get on a plane again.. Haha. Leaving from LA we had a 3 hour delay then stopped over in Atlanta and then were rerouted to Prague and finally to Munich! All on very little sleep. I was relieved when I saw my backpack come down the luggage belt, Andrew and I were making bets as to whether or not the bags would be there because of our seemingly endless plane transfers. I must say however, that the flight out of prague was gorgeous.. We were able to see the country side of the czech republic which looked like never ending farms. When we arrived in Munich and got on the subway toward the hostel, I could already see a huge difference in the way of live in the country. Having never been on a subway before I wasn't sure what to expect. I learned fast that you stay out of the way of the locals! They mean business when are
trying to get somewhere. Also, I thought it was interesting that once on the subway they all take out a magazine or book and immediately start reading.

As we got off the subway I was in awe of the city. It is unlike anything I have ever seen before! All of the miserable hours of traveling were completely worth it! I am so excited to finally be here, the experience has been amazing thus far. Our hostel is conveniently located as it is not even a block away from the subway and close to downtown. After checking in it was time to venture through the town. We came across a gorgeous church called Munich Frauenkirche (and later found out that it is the largest church in Munich). It was interesting to see all of the intricate detail inside and to see first hand the rituals of the catholic church ie. lighting a prayer and such. As we aimlessly continued through the town we explored shops, alleys and hidden buildings which by the way, are absolutely amazing in design! The architecture is beautiful and ornate... Even the street lights are pretty! One of our neat finds was a garden, the perfect place for a nap!
After a quick nap it was time to eat..Something I always do! :) For dinner I tried an authentic brautwurst.. Pretty tasty. After more walking it was time to call it a day. It is easy to lose track of time here, it doesn't get dark until after 9 30!!
